The small Bavarian village of Bad Kohlgrub has the honour of providing the Christmas tree for Munich this year.
This massive conifer weighs eight tons, stretches to almost thirty meters in length and is about 80 years old.
On my way to work I took some snapshots this morning. The tree is all wrapped up and ready to go, covered with a sprinkling of the first snow of the season and against the backdrop of the Hörnle mountain.
The journey to the Bavarian capital commences tomorrow. Look forward to seeing it in full beauty in the middle of Munich’s Christmas market. Though I prefer trees in their natural environment and with their roots firmly in the ground.
